Community transport: have your say by Friday 30 October

Essex County Council (ECC) wants to hear from you about community transport – the minibuses, door-to-door services and volunteer drivers that get people to hospital appointments, the shops or a friend’s house – by Friday 30 October. It matters in a rural district like ours, and ECC wants to know how people use it and what’s missing.

Its Community Transport User and Awareness Survey takes about 10 minutes. ECC says it’s the first countywide survey focused on community transport in Essex, and that individual answers are kept confidential and reported only in summary.

You don’t need to be a regular user to answer. The survey is for people who use community transport now, people who used to, people who’ve tried to join or use it, and people who never have, even if this is the first they’ve heard of it. ECC says the survey is meant to help shape future funding and commissioning decisions.

If you’d rather not fill it in online, you can print a paper copy and post it to:

To reach County Hall by Friday 30 October, post it by Tuesday 27 October if you use a second-class stamp, or by Thursday 29 October with a first-class stamp. ECC’s page gives no Freepost address, so it will need one or the other.

Email [email protected] with any questions.

Please pass this on to anyone who might want to answer. If you know someone who doesn’t go online, you could print a copy for them to fill in and post, or help them answer online.
